Mobile Steps Features

These mobile safety steps are a new range of steps under construction.

Whilst our standard steps are suitable for most applications, we are often asked for steps that can go down narrow aisles or have restricted access.

Our standard steps are often not suitable as the rear axle is too wide, yet this width is needed for stability on taller steps.

Our new range of narrow aisle steps are still as structurally strong as standard. The steps boast a maximum width of 600mm.
The principal features are:

-The steps taper inwards as they go up. This keeps the user's weight over the centre line for stability.
-The rear wheels are mounted under the frame so there is no protrusion of the rear axle.
-The brake lever is centrally mounted so that it does not add to the overall width.

Mobile Steps new range

These narrow aisle mobile steps are still fabricated in one rigid structure giving good inherent strength. The mobile steps are easy to manoeuvre with 2 fixed 125mm nylon wheels and 2 smaller 100mm wheels housed in swivel castors. When in position, simply disengage the swivel wheels by releasing the centrally mounted lever brake.
The mobile ladder is fitted with our industrial hi-grip step as standard, also a 100mm kick-plate and safety operating sticker

Mobile steps are painted as standard, or can be offer galvanized.

Mobile Steps

These mobile safety steps are constantly evolving as customers request solutions to their respective mobile step applications. As we develop new mobile step solutions, if we think it will help others, we add it to our range of mobile steps.

Restricted space is often a problem as space is always maximised. The 2 fixed and 2 swivel castor configuration used on our steps means that they cannot spin within their footprint. Sprung castors are a good solution but on bigger steps, the springs need to be fairly strong to lift the weight of the structure and are hard to compress when someone stands on them making them unstable.

We have developed a mobile step with 4 swivel castors and 2 separate levers to disengage them so all 4 feet are grounded on the floor. The handles are centrally mounted to keep width to a minimum.
