These mobile safety steps are fabricated in two parts which are bolted together to make one rigid structure. The mobile steps are easy to manoeuvre with 2 large 200mm nylon wheels and 2 smaller 100mm wheels housed in swivel castors. When in position, simply disengage the swivel wheels by releasing the lever brake on the side of the mobile steps.
The ladder has two platforms heights, one at 1 metre and one at 3 metres. Both platforms have double access and come with a safety bar on each side.
The mobile ladder is fitted with our industrial hi-grip step as standard, also a 100mm kick-plate and safety operating sticker.
These mobile steps are painted in Blue RAL5010.

Standard Punched Steel Step Treads
This step is fitted with "punched and raised holes" step treads. These treads are highly slip resistant and also shed water off very efficiently.
The step treads are formed from 2mm mild steel and have 9 mm dia punched and 5 mm dia drainage holes in a square pattern. The 9mm holes are "raised" in such a way that the sharp edge of the hole is exposed which grips the sole of a shoe offering high levels of slip resistance. The step treads pass a 15mm ball bearing test - a standard test for steps and grid flooring. The punched and drainage holes give the profile an unsurpassed high strength to weight ratio.
These treads have been tested for slip resistance by the testing company Lucideon in their UKAS accredited testing laboratory. The "Pendulum Test" was originally developed for road surfaces but has grown to include all manner of surfaces such as supermarket floors or swimming pools.
Our step treads were rated as follows:
Dry test: 66 value - Extremely low
Wet test: 50 value - Low

Extended Access Platforms
Our standard mobile steps can be adapted to offer access from the top platform for more additional room. Whilst we have the triangular sides in stock, each mobile step is built to order and we can customise the top platform to suit your requirement.
The first point to mention is that our steps "slope" back slightly. This is deliberately designed for stability, but it does mean that if you butt our steps up against a brick wall, there will be a gap at the top. This can be overcome by extending the platform.
These mobile step access platforms are custom made to order, so choose carefully. If in doubt, please call us.
These options are only available on mobile steps with platforms higher than 2m. This is because with the smaller mobile steps, there is not enough weight in the structure to counterbalance the offset weight of someone standing on an extension. Our platforms are made up of tread sections, normally 200mm wide, although we also stock 150mm. So any extensions, or custom sized platforms, will generally by multiples of these sizes.
Straight Through Access Platform
An additional tread is added onto the steps platform with a handrail post for support. This will now butt up to a vertical wall.
Left Access Platform
An additional tread is added onto the front of the steps platform and also a tread onto the left hand side. Handrails are altered to suit.
Right Access Platform
An additional tread is added onto the front of the steps platform and also a tread onto the right hand side. Handrails are altered to suit.
Double Access Platform
For double access an additional tread is added onto the front of the steps platform and also a tread onto the left and right hand side. Handrails are altered to suit.
